Annette Poliwka has over 20 years of experience in environmental policy, programming, and outreach. She started her career driving a truck and sorting recycling for Americorps/San Francisco Conservation Corps. She has worked for San Francisco Environment, and the USEPA, where she launched the Trash Free Waters Program, and graduated from their Leadership Development and Environmental Career Program. She is the Vice-Chair of the Berkeley Zero Waste Commission, has researched plastic pollution in the North Atlantic with 5Gyres, and is on the board of National Cleanup Day.
Annette holds an MS in Environmental Management from the University of San Francisco, a BA in Mass Media Communications from Fairfield University, studied International Business Management at Georgetown University and Sustainable Fashion at Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York City.
