Tekla Balukas

Outreach Specialist

Tekla Balukas specializes in all aspects of reaching target audiences with personal connection, including researching outreach opportunities, planning and staffing events, conducting in-person and phone outreach, collecting data, and writing reports on events. Tekla has been coordinating and managing direct outreach that reaches diverse motorcycle communities through the Riders Recycle program since 2013. She utilizes both her experience as a motorcyclist and her grassroots environmental education background to successfully reach riders who change their own oil and filters.

She holds a B.A. in English from Mount Holyoke College. Her environmental education work began over thirty years ago doing wildlife habitat management education with the State of Connecticut and managing field canvasses for Clean Water Action.
